FALCON PAYMASTERS THE INTEGRATED SOLUTION FOR YOUR PRODUCTION PAYROLL NEEDS

ü        Payroll. Falcon processes your production payroll efficiently and accurately for anywhere in the U.S. or Canada. Let us handle the required tax withholdings, unemployment insurance (and claims), employer tax contributions, union pension and health contributions, W-2s, New Hire Reporting, etc. The pile of paperwork, union and government hassles end up in our in-box not yours.

ü        Business Oversight. Long after a “wrap”, there can be continuing obligations such as; tracking residual cycles, talent reinstatements, releases, downgrades, rights transfers and much more. Falcon stays on top of the tedious but vital contract details.

 FOCUSED ON SUPPORT

  • Planning and Counsel. Falcon enhances your staff capabilities by working with you to prepare budget scenarios and residual forecasts. Our knowledge of production personnel rates, union rules and civil codes enhances your ability to create scripts and bids on time and on budget.

  • Cycle Tracking: We track residual cycles and send you a written notice when commercials are due for holding or use payments. Notices are sent in plenty of time so you can discuss reuse with your client.
  • No Keystroking! Unlike some paymasters we don’t require you to purchase expensive software or maintain the staff to use it.

  • Your bookkeeper will love us! You get a single itemized easy-to-read invoice for the project. It goes down in your books as a single deductible line-item expense. Invoices can be sent via mail, fax or email. Need customized reports – we can give them to you.

  • Direct Deposit: When your crew is on location, they will appreciate it.

  • Direct commission payment to agents: No more separate invoices from talent agents.

  • Signatory Services. When permitted, we can serve as the union signatory. We handle SAG, AFTRA, AEA, AFM, IATSE, ACTRA and others.

  •  Liaison and Problem Resolution. Our years of experience and relationships with agents, unions and performers can  help smooth out those little bumps in the road.

  • Workshops. Staff turnover and the sheer complexity of union contracts and talent payments can be overwhelming. We’re always happy to meet with your staff and help train them. For handholding we’re just a phone call away.

THE TIME-SAVING SOLUTION

In 1995, the IRS issued a detailed opinion that most commercial and non-broadcast (industrial) talent and many crew persons must be treated as employees - not independent contractors. The IRS opinion applies to union and non-union employees.

This opinion requires the employer to provide government tax withholding and employee benefits – such as unemployment insurance. In addition to government mandates, various talent and crew unions have additional requirements.

LET FALCON HANDLE IT, INSTEAD! With Falcon as the legal employer of record, you’re protected from time consuming and expensive responsibilities. Plus, with Falcon, you enjoy extra protection from our substantial liability and un-owned vehicle policy – at no additional charge.

HOW DOES THE PAYROLL SERVICE WORK?

We keep it simple. You select the talent and crew the way you always did. We’ll provide you with a free supply of Falcon Enrollment and Payment agreements to be completed at the session or shoot.

At the end of a session, send the completed forms to our Columbus service center.

When we receive the report, we’ll calculate the taxes, contributions, union H&R, agent commissions and other applicable items and Promptly send an single invoice for the project. You can choose to receive invoices via mail, fax or email. When we receive payment from you, we go to work processing all the payments and reports – but your job is done.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?

It can vary according to a number of factors. Are the employees talent or crew? Is the job union or non-union? How much commission is the talent agent charging? The cost can also vary depending on state employer tax contributions, lodging, travel, wardrobe, union H&R / P&W, reimbursements and other variables. There is never a charge for cost estimates. Call us for a fast, accurate estimate during the planning or booking stage.

WHEN IS PAYMENT DUE?

Payment to talent or crew can be due anywhere from 15 to 30 days from job date. Federal law, state law or union regulations determine the due dates on our invoices to ensure that employees are paid on time.

HOW DO WE GET STARTED? It’s as easy as 1-2-3.

  1. Call us with any questions.  It will give us a chance to learn more about your needs.

  2. Complete and return our Service Agreement and Client Information Form. This only has to be done once.

  3. We’ll sign and return a copy of the agreement to you and rush a set of convenient employment reports so you will have them on hand.  You’re Ready To Go!
